Heavy Rain On The WayApril 7, 2014 12:41pm
With heavy rain and warm temperatures in the forecast, officials at the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority are predicting low lying areas will flood across the region.
BlackburnNews.com Weather Specialist John Wilson says we can anticipate up to 25mm (1in) of rain this evening and into the overnight.
“I don’t think there will be any major driving problems. If we do get a heavy burst of rain around 6am I wouldn’t be too surprised, but it should be tapering off pretty quickly to showers by the morning rush hour tomorrow,” says Wilson. “At first today, it’ll just be quite light rain, the heavier stuff doesn’t come until this evening and tonight.”
The conservation authority is urging everyone to stay away from the river banks and waterways in the coming days. If rainfall continues basements along King St. are expected to flood.
