Horse Trailer Involved In Crash

OPP are crediting TJ Stables for wrangling and treating two horses after the trailer they were travelling in flipped on Hwy. 401 in Chatham-Kent.

The horses were returning from London when their trailer was involved in a crash on the highway.

“One horse had been ejected from the trailer and the other horse was still in the trailer, but it was upside down on its roof and the horse was standing upright on the ceiling. The other horse escaped, panicked and ran,” says owner of TJ Stables Terry Jenkins. “It was about two and a half or three miles from Communication Rd. exit. That horse took off running and a police officer was able to cut him off, got him stopped and got a rope in his car.”

Jenkins says the horses were stitched up for some deep cuts, but otherwise were unharmed in the crash.
