It’s status quo for animal control in Chatham-Kent.
Chatham-Kent council rubber stamped a two year extension on the animal control contracts. The cost for animal control for 2014 is pegged at $540,000 a 1.5% increase over last year.
The largest chunk is the OSPCA bill of $386,000 which covers cat control across the municipality and dog control in Wards 2 and 6.
Also approved was $15,000 for repairs to the OSPCA building on Park Ave. W. as a stop gap until the new facility is built.
