The summer of 2014 will bring a renewed effort to police Chatham-Kent waterways.
In 2013, there were only 120 hours spent on the water by Chatham-Kent officers.
Sergeant Mike Domony says he wants to add four more people to the marine unit. “We have to do that enforcement, we have to be out there on the water and make ourselves visible and to try and help people remember the rules on the water.”
Currently, there are only eight regular and auxiliary officers involved in patrolling the water.
