The efforts of three men in saving the life of a distressed woman are being formally recognized by the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

Windsor’s Kevin Antic along with Chatham-Kent residents Stafford Johnston and Paul McGoanigle managed to pull a woman off of the Lacroix St. Bridge on January 23.

Johnston says she was standing on the outside of the railing when they stopped. “I caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye and I was like ‘Kevin, what is that lady doing?’ because she was on the other side of the railing,” says Johnston. “He said ‘I don’t know.’ That’s when he asked her for a hug and he grabbed her and picked her up and lifted her over.”

The trio turned over the distraught 41-year-old Chatham woman to police, who took her to the hospital.
