Man struck, killed by taxi in east-end Toronto

TORONTO – A man in his 60s is dead after he was struck by a taxi in front of a hospital in east-end Toronto early Wednesday.

It happened just after 12:30 a.m. in front of the Scarborough Hospital’s general campus (on Lawrence Ave.).

The victim, who was crossing the street mid-block, was pronounced dead on scene.

Police say it is not yet known if the victim was a patient at the hospital.

His name has not yet been released. (CP24)
