Local farm business celebrates 50 years
Snobelen Farms is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The business was first established in 1971 by Mike and Judy Snobelen with two grain bins on their home farm outside of Ripley. There are now eight elevator locations across Southwestern Ontario and Snobelen’s employs 60 full time employees.
The independent, family-owned company specializes in the production, processing and sales of food grade soy\beans, commercial grains and pedigreed seed for markets across Canada and internationally.
The business expanded into Lucknow in 1976 and into Dungannon in 1987.
Three more elevators were purchased in Tiverton, Blyth and Brantford in the 2010s.
And In 2018, Snobelen Farms purchased Bramhill Seeds and has since constructed a world-class seed processing, treatment and packaging facility in Palmerston.
“Across five decades of change, we’ve stayed true to our roots, always focused on local farmers and serving customers through quality product,” said Sam Snobelen, president
of Snobelen Farms. “And we could not have achieved our success without the dedication of our employees. We thank them for bringing their best to work every single day.”
