Popular ag conference going virtual

The Southwest Agriculture Conference is merging with two other conferences this winter and is going online.
The Ontario Agricultural Conference will take on place January 6 and 7, 2021 and will combine the Southwest Agricultural Conference with the Guelph and Eastern Ontario Crop Conferences.
“Out of necessity this year we are combining the three conferences into this one conference, the “Coming Together” conference that we’re having,” said Conference Co-Chair Albert Tenuta.
Right now the organizers are in the process of finalizing the speaker lineup.
“There will be a mixture of live sessions that will be live interactive sessions where you can ask questions, you can talk to the speakers. We’ll have opportunities to have a question and answer period with them as well,” said Tenuta. “But also we’ll have some pre-recorded sessions as well.”
Tenuta added that the live sessions will all be recorded, so participants can re-watch sessions or watch ones they missed.
“It also provides an opportunity for our participants and for growers to continue to learn throughout the winter and access these videos and sessions, anytime, on their schedule.
Because the conference will be taking place online, registration will be unlimited this year. Normally it sells out in about a month.
Tenuta said there are many advantages to combining the conferences and moving them online, but added that it’s only temporary.
“Combining our efforts and combining all three into one, that provides us with an opportunity to reach all agricultural growers across the province this year. But the ultimate goal is to go back in 2022, and have our three separate conferences.”
Registration will open in October. Click here for more details.
