Huron-Bruce MPP LisaThompson is encouraging everyone in her riding to support Bill 156, the bill that would protect farmers from trespassers.

It was supported enthusiastically at last Friday’s Federation of Agriculture Local Politician’s Forum in Clinton.

Thompson says it’s important that everyone advocate for the passage of the bill because it matters, not only in Huron and Bruce, but throughout Ontario.

“We need to be sending a clear message to our farmers across this Province that we understand what they contribute to our GDP and that they matter and that their work place needs to be protected, be it the truck transporting animals or their farm yard, their place of work needs to be protected from trespassers,” said Thompson.

Thompson says it’s important that farmers know that they matter and their work place needs to be protected, whether it’s the truck transporting animals or farmers working in their farm yard, their place of work needs to be protected from trespassers.

Bill 156 passed second reading with unanimous support recently and is now going into the committee and amendment phase before it comes back for third reading.
