Deal Re-Opens Jamaican Market To Canadian Beef

Canadian beef exporters now have full access to the Jamaican market.

That market has been closed to Canadian beef since the 2003 BSE problem.

Canada Beef estimates the market to be worth about 4 and a half million dollars.

Jamaica is Canada’s second largest market for agricultural exports in the Caribbean – second only to Cuba.

Canada Beef President Rob Meijer (MEYER) welcomes the announcement.

He argues unfettered access to export markets gives Canadian beef and veal producers and industry a bright a prosperous future.
