Holstein Canada Elects New President, Vice-Presidents

Holstein Canada had a record year for registration, classification and genotyping in 2013.

CEO Anne Louise Carson’s report to the organisation’s annual meeting said registrations were up 2 per cent from 2012, classifications were up 5 per cent and genotyping tests were up 40 per cent.

Delegates to Holstein Canada’s 131st annual general meeting were also told the organisation had a net excess of revenues over expenses of 162 thousand dollars.

That’s on an operating revenue of 12 million dollars with operating expenses of 11 point 8 million.

Mario Perrault from Quebec was elected president for 2014-15 by the Board of Directors.

Vice President’s are John Buckley of Lindsay, Ontario and Robert Chabot from Quebec.

Over 300 people attending this year’s annual meeting in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

This was the second year Holstein Canada provided a live stream of the meeting to give members across the country a chance to follow along.

The 2015 Holstein Canada convention and annual general meeting will be held next April in both Monkton and Fredericton, New Brunswick.
