3 Inducted Into New Stratford-Perth Agriculture Wall Of Fame
The new Stratford Perth Museum Agriculture Wall of Fame has it’s first three inductees.
Stewart Anderson, Willy Keller and Eric McLeod were celebrated at the Stratford Rotary Club’s recent Rural-Urban night.
Anderson, who died last year, was a dairy farmer described as showing exceptional leadership both as a business manager and as an active participant in many community organisations.
Willy Keller was a hog producer who promoted the cross breeding of York and Landrace Swine, now a standard in the pork industry.
He and his wife, Clara, were past winners of the CKNX Radio Farm Advisory Board FAB Award.
He passed away in 2012.
And Eric McLeod had a 35 year career with Dairy Farmers of Ontario and is credited with initiating the concept of farm visits for the DFO.
McLeod died last year.
The Wall of Fame is open to current or former residents of Perth County who have made outstanding contributions to agriculture in the county.
The wall at the Stratford Perth Museum also includes recognition for the seven Perth County residents who are in the Ontario Agriculture Hall of Fame in Milton.
