U-S Cattle On Feed Numbers Down Again

The USDA’s latest Cattle on Feed report shows that number continues to fall.

The report says 10 point 8 million head of cattle and calves were on feed on March 1st – 1 per cent lower than a year ago.

Placements were up, however – 15 per cent higher than they were in February of 2013.

The department says marketings of fed cattle in the U-S in February totalled 1 point 55 million head.

That’s 3 per cent lower than a year ago – and the lowest for that month since at least 1996.
