Little Huron East can do about Vanastra pot smell
The Mayor of Huron East is getting complaints about a new marijuana growing operation in Vanastra.
Bernie MacLellan agrees there is an odour from the business, but says there’s nothing the municipality can do.
He explains the old Plant Paradise building was zoned to grow an agricultural product – and it still is – so the municipality has no input into the operation of the business.
MacLellan points out the federal government hands out the licences for that type of operation and is supposed to ensure that these operations are following rules and regulations.
He suggests anyone who has a problem with the smell to should contact MP Ben Lobb’s office.
