Jr. hockey wrap-up - September 23, 2018

Ben Larder knocked away all 15 shots he faced in goal for the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals as they shut out the Dresden Kings 5-0 Sunday night.

The win came during the Admirals' home opener at the Libro Centre, evening their record at 2-2 on the young season. Despite their first loss of the season, Dresden is still first in the PJHL Stobbs Division with eight points.

Austin Jennings was responsible for both of the goals in the first period. His first one at 11:57 put the Addys on the board first. His second one was on the power play and took place over two-and-a-half minutes later.

The Admirals added an additional two goals in the second frame. Christian McBride's goal made it 3-0 Amherstburg at 2:51, and Josh Talerico extended the lead later in the period with a power play goal. Dresden goaltender Brett Brochu was pulled after that goal and replaced by Hunter Crowley.

Ty Moss threw a goal in for good measure in the third period.  Together, Brochu and Crowley combined for 35 saves out of 40 shots faced.

Amherstburg travels to Petrolia Thursday night while the Kings host Essex on Friday.
