The Dresden Kings staved off elimination with a 1-0 victory over the Essex 73's in Game 5 on Monday.
Nolan VandenBoorn scored the only goal of the game for Dresden.
The 73's lead the best-of-seven playoff series 3-2.
The two teams face off in Game 6 on Tuesday at 7pm.
