Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up - December 17, 2017

It was the Caleb Paquette Show Sunday night.

Paquette scored four goals in the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals' 6-3 win over the Lakeshore Canadiens at the Libro Centre.

It was the Addys' tenth win in their last 11 tries, putting them in third place in a tight PJHL Stobbs Division race, one point behind the Essex 73s and the Canadiens.

Ryan Alexander opened the scoring for the Admirals at 1:15 of the opening period. Dylan Bradley tied the game up for the Canadiens four and a half minutes later and the game was 1-1 after the first stanza.

Caleb Paquette's goal at 3:28 of the second period gave Amherstburg a 2-1 lead, though Kyle Carter would knot the score again over three minutes later. The Addys then picked up two more goals before the second intermission. Cory Burns' goal gave his team the lead back, and Paquette scored his second of the game at 16:10 of the middle frame.

Connor Rosaasen put Lakeshore down one with a goal at 4:27 in the third period. Paquette then scored back-to-back goals to complete his hat trick plus one.

Ben Larder was the winner in goal for Amherstburg with 31 saves out of 34. Mitch Topliffe had 19 saves in the loss for the Canadiens.

Lakeshore hosts the Mooretown Flags on Friday night. The Admirals are now on holiday break and resume play on Wednesday, December 27 when they host the Dresden Kings.

The first period of the contest was perfect, with no scoring on either side and no penalties called. The 73s outshot the Blades 10-8 in the frame.

The middle frame was still scoreless, though both teams had two power play chances each.

Still nobody cracked the scoreboard in the third period, which was also perfect with no penalties, sending the game into overtime. The 73s led in shots 31-23 after regulation.

Essex shot twice on goal in overtime before O'Neil scored the winner.
