Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up - November 19, 2017

Noah Hedrick stopped all 28 shots as the Leamington Flyers beat the Lincolns in St. Marys 6-0 Sunday afternoon.

It's the second shutout of the year for Hedrick, whose Flyers regain the top spot in the GOJHL Western Conference standings with 33 points. The Lincolns have 15 points and are in eighth place.

The Flyers got their first three goals in the first period. Parker Jacques started things off at 9:13. Josh Pope-Ferguson and Cody Schneider found the goal to make the score 3-0 Flyers at first intermission.

Leamington scored another trio on the second period, including two back-to-back from Dylan Weston.  Dalton Langlois got an unassisted goal with 1:54 left in the frame. There was no scoring in the third period.

Evan Morrison had 34 saves in goal for the Lincolns.

The Lincolns head to Sarnia Thursday while the Flyers travel to St. Thomas Friday night.

Gianluca Pizzuto scored a double-overtime winner for the LaSalle Vipers in their 3-2 win over the St. Thomas Stars at the Timken Rink.

Each team picked up a goal in the first period, with Manny Silverio opening the scoring for the Vipers. Jake Robinson then tied it up for the Stars for a 1-1 deadlock after one period of play.

There was no scoring in the second period and LaSalle had two power play chances. The Vipers outshot the Stars in the period 14-10.

St. Thomas broke the tie 56 seconds into the third period when Thomas McLatchie found the net. LaSalle responded roughly halfway through the frame with Aaron Shaw's power-play lamplighter.

The first overtime period went without a goal and the Stars getting the only two shots in. Pizzuto scored the winner at 2:36 in the second overtime period.

Dershahn Stewart took the win for LaSalle with 29 saves out of 31 attempts. Anthony Hurtubise stopped 31 shots for the Stars.

The Vipers host Sarnia on Wednesday night.

Ryan Alexander scored a goal and an assist as the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals beat the Petrolia Flyers 4-1 at the Libro Centre.

The game's outcome places both teams in a tie for fifth-place in the PJHL Stobbs Division with 23 points apiece

Alexander put the Admirals on the scoreboard first with the first period's only goal. The Addys added two more goals in the second period from Cory Burns and Luc Warnock.

Josh Talerico provided insurance for Amherstburg in the third period, though Petrolia's Kole Keating's goal in the period averted a shutout.

Ben Larder stopped all but one of Petrolia's 38 shots on goal. Jakob Knowles was pulled in the second period for the Flyers and replaced by Riley Collins. They combined for 28 saves.

The Addys travel to Blenheim Thursday night while the Flyers host the Dresden Kings.

Christian Moccia needed the overtime period to score the winner for the Blenheim Blades in a 3-2 victory at home over the Lakeshore Canadiens.

The Blades are tied for seventh in the Stobbs Division with 17 points. Lakeshore still sits in first with 31 points.

The first period was perfect, with no scoring and no penalties on either side. The Blades scored the only second-period goal, off Drew Marlatt's stick.

The Canadiens picked up back-to-back goals in the third period, both unassisted. Dylan Bradley got Lakeshore on the board and Matt Smith put his team in the lead. Marlatt scored his second goal of the game with 1:59 left in regulation to force overtime.

Chris DeWulf got the win in goal for the Blades, stopping 29 shots. Mitch Topliffe got 24 saves for the Canadiens.

Blenheim travels to Essex Tuesday night while Lakeshore hosts Dresden Friday.
