Lakeshore Canadiens Name New Bench Boss

The Lakeshore Canadiens turn to a junior B team for their new head coach.

The junior C hockey team has announced that Anthony Iaquinta will take over as the Canadiens' new bench boss for the coming season. Iaquinta, 29, had been working for the last seasons with the Leamington Flyers as an assistant coach.

“I am excited to work with Anthony towards our goal of a championship,” says Canadiens general manager Mark Seguin in a statement on the team's official website.  “His vast success as both a player and coach will be a great asset in guiding our team.”

Iaquinta had also coached for the Essex 73s.

He replaces Justin Solcz, who is rejoining the University of Windsor Lancers as an assistant coach for their men's hockey squad.

Also named to the Lakeshore coaching staff are Mike Dobric, who has coached in the Windsor and Sun Country systems at the AAA-level. Previous Canadiens assistants Rene Lognion, Mike Ditty and Sean Voy remain on staff.
