Express Sign Power Forward

The Windsor Express continue to stock up on talent for the coming season.

The team announced Friday that they have signed power forward Taj Gray, a native of Wichita, Kansas. Terms of the contract were not disclosed in accordance with team policy.

Gray, 33, most recently played for the Mazatlan Nauticos of the CIBACOPA, a league of teams in the northwestern region of Mexico. He started six games for the Nauticos, averaging over 16 points per game with a two-to-one ratio from within the paint.

Before that he had played for Elitzur Ashkelon in Israel, Murcia in Spain, and four clubs in France.

Gray began playing his college ball at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma, where as a sophomore he was named a first-team All-American for the National Junior College Athletic Association. He transferred to the University of Oklahoma where he was part of a squad that won the 2005 Big 12 conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

After leaving Oklahoma, he played NBA Summer League games for the Sacramento Kings, but was never drafted in the league. He signed a tryout contract with the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers in 2009.

Gray will join other new signees in November when the Express begins training camp.
