Spitfires Hosting Mini Camp Sunday

The public can get a glimpse of the future of the Windsor Spitfires Sunday.

The team, currently on a layoff before they host the 2017 MasterCard Memorial Cup, is holding its annual mini-camp at the WFCU Centre.

Players from the 2016 and 2017 OHL Priority Selection drafts are expected to participate, along with the five players taken by the Spitfires in the first-ever OHL Under-18 Priority Selection.  Free agents hoping for a spot on the roster next season are also scheduled to attend, according to the team's official website.

The public is invited to watch the camp, which will take place from 1pm to 3pm at the Green Shield Rink at the WFCU Centre complex.   The team's pro shop, The Crease, will be open from 9am to 5pm and a used equipment sale will be on from noon to 3pm.

Admission to the camp is free.  The Spitfires will kick off the Memorial Cup competition on May 19 when they take on the champion of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
