Canada Dives for Another Silver in Windsor

Canada has collected another medal at the FINA/NVC Diving World Series in Windsor.

In the final day of competition at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, Canadian divers Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac picked up the silver medal in the mixed three-metre synchronized springboard event, with a total score of 311.55 points.  The pair from Quebec has also won silver in this event at the 2015 World Aquatic Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Picking up the gold in the event were Chinese divers Wang Han and Zheng Li with 335.10 points.  Maddison Keeney and Kevin Chavez of Australia took third place.

Two other events were contested in the third and final day of diving events.  In the men's ten-metre platform event, Chen Aisen of China won the gold medal with a score of 569.10.  Less than five points behind was teammate Yang Hao, and Tom Daley of Great Britain won the bronze with 493.80 points.

In the women's three-metre springboard event, Shi Tingmao was first with a score of 378.40.  Wang Han took her second medal of the day with a silver, and Australia's Keeney got her second bronze of the afternoon.

With the three days of diving concluded, China dominated in the final medal count.  Chinese divers won 14 medals, eight of them gold.  Australia was second in overall medals with five - one silver and four bronze.  Canada and Britain each got three.  Canadian divers finished with three silvers while British athletes got a gold and two bronze.

Russia had two medals while Malaysia, Germany and Mexico got one apiece.

The Windsor diving event is the fourth and final one in this year's series of the Diving World Series.  It is also the fourth year Windsor has hosted the event.
