OHL Coaches Take Notice Of Spitfires

A number of Windsor Spitfires are being recognized in this year's OHL Coaches Poll.

Five different players placed in the top three in six of the 20 categories that coaches voted on.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Mikhail Sergachev took top spot in the Western Conference's Hardest Shot category for the second straight season. He's also seen by coaches as being the second best offensive defenceman, next to Darren Raddysh of the Erie Otters.

Spitfires Co-captain Jalen Chatfield placed second among penalty killers in the west.

Forward Gabriel Vilardi collected the second most votes in the Best Shootout Shooter category, while Michael DiPietro narrowly missed being named the best shootout goalie in his conference. Michael McNiven of the Owen Sound Attack bested DiPietro by one vote.

Finally, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco was named the second best playmaker in the OHL's Western Conference.
