Express Fall Short 107-98

Former Windsor Express player Chris Commons scored 22 points as his Niagara River Lions beat them 107-98 Sunday at the WFCU Centre.

Commons led all scorers in the contest, which snapped a four-game winning streak for Windsor.  The Express have won five out of their last seven, however, and sit in second place in the NBL Central Division with a 9-12 record, behind only the London Lightning.

The River Lions controlled the first half of the contest and held a 54-34 lead over Windsor at the intermission.  The Express mounted a furious comeback effort in the fourth quarter, outscoring Niagara 39-28.

Nick Evans led the Express with 19 points, shooting nine-for-13 in field goals.  Juan Pattillo added 17 points and led Windsor with ten rebounds.  DeAndre Thomas sank an additional 15 points off the bench.

Carl Hall and Anthony "Scoop" Jardine each had 16 points for the River Lions.  Richard Amardi and Sammy Zeglinski led the Niagara defence with eight rebounds apiece.

The Express host Niagara again Saturday night.
