Express Stalled by River Lions 94-88

Juan Pattillo scored 24 points and had ten rebounds, but the Windsor Express lost to the River Lions 94-88 Saturday night in St. Catharines.

The Express remains in last place in the NBL Central Division with a 5-11 record.

Although the game was a dead heat throughout the first half and Windsor only trailed 40-39 at halftime, the Niagara offence was able to pull away and hold off the Express in the second half.

Warren Ward contributed 16 points for the Express and Quinnel Brown added 15.

Sammy Zeglinski led the River Lions with 24 points and handed the ball off to scoring teammates seven times in the game.  Kirk Williams, Jr. picked up 18 points for Niagara while Richard Amardi and Chris Commons had 14 points apiece.  Commons also led the defensive effort against his former team with eight rebounds.

The Express now prepare for their annual Clash at the Colosseum game Wednesday night at Caesars Windsor.  The Kitchener-Waterloo Titans will take on the Express on a special court built right on the Colosseum stage.
