UPDATE: Hwy. 401 Reopened Following Three-Vehicle Crash

One driver has been seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that forced the closure of westbound Hwy. 401 near Comber.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 4:35pm, a tractor trailer, a pickup truck and a third small passenger vehicle all collided in the westbound lanes between Comber and St. Joachim.

Police say the female driver of the passenger vehicle has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The male drivers of the tractor trailer and pickup truck were both treated for minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 were closed at Comber Side Rd. for several hours as police investigated the crash. The highway was fully reopened around 10:30pm.
