Lancers Win Women’s Basketball Semi-Final

The Windsor Lancers are on their way to winning four consecutive Bronze Baby Trophies following a 65-45 semi-final victory against Fraser Valley in CIS women’s basketball action.

Lancers coach Chantal Vallée says even though her team is going into their fifth straight national final, it’s still as exciting. She says it was “a little nerve” that helped take the win over Fraser Valley.

“If we didn’t score, we wanted to make sure they weren’t scoring either. Fortunately, I have a team that’s mature enough that no one was going to panic,” says Vallée.

Guard Miah-Marie Langlois totaled a game-high of 20 points for the Lancers and Korissa Williams snagged a team-high of 11 rebounds.

Windsor will take on the Saint Mary’s Huskies for the championship final on Sunday at 8pm.
