Wrong way traffic stop nets drugs and weapons

A Toronto man has been charged with several drug and weapons offences after police stopped him for allegedly driving the wrong way.

Police said an erratic vehicle was spotted going southbound in the northbound lane on Howard Avenue just south of Edinborough Street on Tuesday shortly before midnight during a drug and firearm investigation. Officers stopped the vehicle in a nearby parking lot and found fentanyl, brass knuckles and an air pistol during a search.

Police said the suspect had conditions not to be in possession of any firearm.

Spencer Piticco, 30, of Toronto, is charged with dangerous driving, breach of probation, failing to comply with bail conditions, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and several more firearm-related charges.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
