Letowski: Spits Will Be Fast & Fun

The Windsor Spitfires are getting ready for another hockey season.

Training camp is underway at the WFCU Centre and Coach Trevor Letowski expects his team will be fast and fun to watch this year. Letowski believes his team can win most races for the puck and should be tough to play against.

"Just fast and pressuring pucks everywhere. We're going to change some systems and play as fast as anybody in the league. Just a real fun place to play and be real offensive," the coach says.

Letowski says it's early but he likes what he sees so far.

"Thought there were some young players that stood out and tried to be noticed and are going to push some of our players coming back from last year. That's what we want, a lot of internal competition," says Letwoski.

Letowski admits there are a lot of returning players this year but says there's always room for more talent and skill.

"If the young players look ready and they are pushing then we'll find room for them. We're looking to be a great team. I thought we had a good year last year and now it's time to build on that," he says.

The Spitfires play in the 2nd Annual OHL Showcase in Buffalo this weekend. This year, the Spits will be joined by the Flint Firebirds, Hamilton Bulldogs, and Erie Otters. The Spits regular season starts at home September 20 against Guelph.
