Charges Laid In Historical Sexual Assault Case

Allegations of the sexual abuse of children have led to charges against an Emeryville man.

Windsor police say at least two complainants have come forward, saying they were abused as minors by the same suspect. Sergeant Steve Betteridge says there may be more victims. The WPS Major Crimes Branch began the investigation in May following a complaint. On May 22, officers executed a search warrant on a home in Emeryville, seizing computers and electronic storage devices.

Betteridge says while the investigation was going on, a second complainant came forward.

The 51-year-old suspect has been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a young person, sexual interference with a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching with a person under 16, and possession of child pornography.

The investigation is ongoing.
