Windsor Man Faces Sexual Assault Charges

A Windsor man has been charged in a series of June sexual assaults.

Windsor police say the first incident occurred on Saturday, June 23 around 4pm on Elliott St. E. near Elsmere Ave. The suspect approached a woman who was putting her young child in a vehicle, pushed passed the woman and inappropriately kissed and touched the child. The woman was able to leave the area and the suspect fled the scene.

The second incident happened the following Monday, June 25, on Elliott St. E., not far from the first occurrence. Police say a woman was approached by a man who groped and tried to kiss her. Constable Andy Drouillard says the two then went their separate ways.

The Major Crimes Branch investigated and were able to identify a suspect. They arrested a 68-year-old man at his home.

The suspect is accused of sexual interference and three counts of sexual assault.
