Jose's Bar and Grill in Leamington had a brush with rock and roll fame Thursday when Gene Simmons of Kiss came through the door.
Owner, Donny Pacheco says Simmons was in town to meet with a local vegetable producer and came by for lunch.
Pacheco got a heads up but says it was a big surprise for everyone else in the restaurant.
"The place just filled up in a second as word got out," says Pacheco. "It was awesome. He took his time. Did some photo ops with everybody. Did some autographs."
Pacheco says Simmons ordered the salmon salad and the two talked about the restaurant business. Simmons owns the Rock & Brews chain in the U.S.
"My first album was Kiss Destroyer, of course, it was on 8-track back then," says Pacheco, admitting he is a fan.
Chris Mastronardi at Double Diamond Farms in Leamington confirms he met with Simmons. He insists it was not a business meeting and just a social call.
Simmons was also spotted at The Grove in Kingsville.
