LaSalle’s New Dock Officially Opens

The Town of LaSalle has a new dock.

Mayor Ken Antaya, town councillors, and members of the LaSalle Rowing Club opened it at Front Road Park over the weekend.

The new dock replaced the aging dock and was a joint project involving the town and the LaSalle Rowing Club.

It’s made of aluminium and polyethene with a floatation system so it can adjust with the fluctuating water levels.

“The new dock will offer user groups and the public a safe and enjoyable opportunity to engage with the Detroit River,” said Director of Culture and Recreation Julie Columbus during a ceremony Saturday.
