Windsor's Walkerville Brewery has picked up three national awards at the Canadian Brewing Awards held in Halifax last weekend.
The brewery won a gold award for its Purity Pilsener, a European-style Lager, Silver for its Kremlin Russian Imperial Stout, and a second Silver for its Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout.
The awards had 1,903 submissions from 310 breweries across Canada.
"This is a credit to the quality of Walkerville Brewery beers and the talent of our brewing staff," said Partner Ian Gourlay. "Windsor has a growing reputation for quality craft beer and nationally recognized awards like these just reinforce that."
Frank's in Tecumseh won a silver in the North American Style Premium Lager category for its Frank's Cream Ale.
Kingsville's The Grove Brew House also won recognition in two categories. It's Westcott Cream Ale won a silver medal, while its Paradise Loager won a bronze in the North American Style Premium Lager category.
The Grove Brew House only opened its doors last August.
This year marked the 16th year for the Canadian Brewing Awards.
