Doug Ford To Hold Rally In Windsor

Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford will return to Windsor-Essex Thursday night for a rally at the Fogolar Furlan Club.

Doors open at the Windsor rally at 6pm Thursday night.

Ford took his "Rally for a Better Ontario" tour to London Wednesday night after events in Sarnia during the day.

The PC Party recently published a list of campaign promises called "For The People: A Plan for Ontario", and while it includes pledges to lower hydro rates and taxes, creating jobs, healthcare investments, and having an auditor review the province's finances, it does not include costing.

That did not bother some at the rally.

"We've been run by clowns and left-wing socialists," says London resident John Brotzel. "We need a businessman who's successful."

Ford refused to take any questions from the media at the event and is not expected to make himself available to reporters in Windsor Thursday.

This is Ford's second visit to Windsor-Essex since the start of the election campaign. Last week, Ford announced his party would increase the high-risk management program for farmers by $50-million a year, and expand natural gas availability in rural areas during a stop in Woodslee.

On Wednesday, Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath made announcements in Windsor and Leamington during her visit campaign visit to the region.

Ontario Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne has yet to visit Windsor-Essex during the election campaign.
