Aunt: Crosswalk Needed After Girl Hit By City Bus In West Windsor

The aunt of a 4-year-old girl who was hit by a Transit Windsor bus Saturday night is trying to get a crosswalk at that location.

Courtney Belanger says Prince Rd. is very dangerous near Barrymore Lane, so she has started a petition.

Police say the initial investigation indicates that the critically-injured child was not familiar with the area, and may have darted out into traffic.

Belanger plans to bring the petition to council and press the city for action.

She says the little girl is recovering at a London hospital. Her brain bleed has been treated, and doctors are waiting for the swelling to go down before operating.

Belanger adds doctors expect Lila Jane to make a full recovery, although it will be a long process.

The little girl's family is visiting Windsor from B.C.  While she recovers, her parents can not work, so a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help them with expenses.
