UPDATE: Ratification Vote Set For Caesars Windsor Workers

After reaching a tentative deal with Caesars Windsor early Thursday morning, Unifor Local 444 has announced the location and time for a ratification vote.

The vote for the 2,100 workers on strike at the casino is at the WFCU Centre at 8787 McHugh St. in Windsor.  The vote will start at 10am Friday.

Cooks, dealers, housekeepers and janitors walked off the job 42 days ago after rejecting another tentative contract. Back on April 6, only 41% of Unifor Local 444 members accepted it.

So far, the union is asking its members to remain on the picket line.

On Tuesday, the two sides sat down with a conciliator. Talks broke off that night, but officials with the union and the casino sat down again Wednesday and reached the deal after midnight Thursday.

The work stoppage prompted Caesars Windsor to postpone all shows, conferences, meetings and events until the end of May.
