Windsor Man Charged With Theft And Fraud

Windsor police say they have arrested a man in connection with at least two incidents of theft and credit card fraud.

Police say the suspect was taken into custody around 7:45pm Thursday on Ouellette Ave. near Ellis St. E. He was recognized as a suspect in two similar incidents.

On March 23, a man told police his wallet was stolen from his vehicle. He had parked the vehicle in his driveway overnight, and when he went to it the next morning he realized he had left the doors unlocked and the wallet was missing. The man's bank card was fraudulently used on at least two occasions that day.

On April 14, officers took a complaint from a resident who was the victim of a similar fraud. The victim said he left his wallet in an unlocked vehicle and it was used fraudulently at a convenience store.

A 34-year-old Windsor man is charged with theft, unauthorized use of a credit card, use of a stolen credit card, fraud, and possession of stolen property.

Windsor police would like to take this opportunity to remind people to "Lock It Or Lose It", and not leave valuables in a parked vehicle.
