A series of strong storms has left downed hydro lines in its wake in Windsor.
Windsor police confirm via Twitter that a section of Ottawa St. near Marentette Ave will be closed for several hours while crews deal with downed power lines.
There have also been reports of downed lines in the area of Giles Blvd. E. and Mercer St.
EnWin Utilities reported that over 5,000 customers were without power early Friday afternoon, mainly in the downtown and university areas, along with Walkerville and South Windsor.
In the town of LaSalle, Disputed Rd. is closed between Huron Church Line and Kelly Rd. due to downed power lines.
There have been no reports of injuries.
