Caesars Windsor Extends Shutdown Amid Strike

As 2,300 workers at Caesars Windsor prepare to spend their fourth week on the picket line, the casino has extended its shutdown into May.

A notice on its website says hotel reservations have been cancelled, and all events postponed until May 19.

That includes the Brian Wilson concert at the Colosseum on May 4 and the Darcy Oake show on May 17. The notice says those ticketholders can keep their tickets for a new show date. Refunds will not be processed until after the strike is resolved.

The Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 13 is another casualty of the strike. Guests with reservations will be notified.

So far, the Pitbull show on May 25, Lee Brice on May 26, and Daniel O'Donnell on May 27 are scheduled to go ahead as planned.

The workers walked off the job on April 5 after rejecting a tentative deal.

Their union, Unifor Local 444 presented a new offer to casino management five days later, but it was rejected during a brief sit down between the two sides on April 18.

There are still no new talks scheduled.
