Dogs Rescued From Windsor House Fire

Two dogs are safe after a house fire in Windsor Sunday afternoon.

The dogs' human companions got out unhurt but the canines were rescued by firefighters, according to Windsor Fire and Rescue.

The incident began around 1:45pm at a home on Parent Ave between Chatham St. E and University Ave E.

Fierfighters and police arrived on scene and saw smoke coming out of the windows of the house.

An investigator concluded that the fire began in a crawl space under a water heater. It was brought under control within an hour.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

A cause of the fire has not been determined.
