Express In An 0-2 Hole, Lose At St. John's 119-107

The Windsor Express have a hole to climb out of in the NBLC Central Division playoffs.

Carl English scored 28 points for the St. John's Edge on their way to a 119-107 win over the Express Sunday afternoon at the Mile One Centre.

The Express now trail 2-0 in the Central Division semifinals and will try to avert a sweep in the best-of-five series at home Wednesday night.

It was an even contest in the first half. The score was knotted at 26 each after the first quarter, and the Edge held a 53-50 advantage at halftime. St. John's offence took charge on the second half, gradually pulling away from Windsor for the remainder of the game.

Maurice Jones and Chad Frazier each led the Express with 19 points. Braylon Rayson put an additional 17 points through off the bench. Logan Stutz led on defence with nine rebounds and sank 16 points.

Coron Williams contributed 26 points off the bench for the Edge. Wally Ellenson had 17 points. Desmond Lee put in a double-double for St. John's with 16 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds.

Game 3 is Wednesday at the WFCU Centre. Tip off is 7pm.
