Funeral arrangements are in place for a Lakeshore Fire district chief who died after an assault.
Joe St. Louis is being remembered as a devoted and loving husband and father who served the Lakeshore Fire Department for 27 years. He was District Chief for Lakeshore station #3.
St. Louis died March 29 from injuries received in an assault a few days before. A 43-year-old man is facing charges.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 3pm to 5pm, then 7pm to 9pm at Families First Funeral Home, 1065 Lauzon Rd.
A funeral Mass is set for Saturday at 1:30pm at Good Shepherd Parish on Advance Blvd. near Pattillo Rd. in Tecumseh. Friends and family may begin calling at 12:30pm.
According to the obituary released by Families First, St. Louis is survived by his wife Sandy, and children Ryan and Sean. He is also survived by his mother Ellen, three brothers, one sister, along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
