Has Your Basement Flooded? Fill Out This Survey

The City of Windsor hopes residents who have had basement flooding will take some time to fill out a national survey.

The survey should take about 20 minutes to fill out online, or by calling 311.

The city, partnered with a group called Partners for Action at the University of Waterloo, and the Canadian Red Cross, want to know about residents' personal flooding experiences and if they are prepared should another flood hit.

It is hoped up to 1,000 residents will participate. Those who do will have the chance to win a $50 Tim Hortons gift card.

The survey ends May 15.

The group from the University of Waterloo will also conduct interviews with emergency and community service providers.

The survey results will help develop a national FloodSmart Canada campaign to increase risk awareness and flood mitigation by homeowners.
