Charges After Woman Robbed In Her Car

Police in Windsor say they have arrested a 55-year-old man after a woman was robbed while sitting in her vehicle Saturday night.

The woman was sitting alone in the driver's seat of her vehicle in a parking lot on Tecumseh Rd. E just west of Lauzon Pkwy. when a man jumped in, indicated he had a weapon, and demanded money.

She did not have any, so he ordered her to get out of the car and walk to an ATM machine nearby. She withdrew some cash, and when she gave it to him, he walked away.

Investigators were able to identify a suspect from video surveillance shot in the area.

Around 1am Wednesday, officers found the suspect in the McDougall Ave. and Tecumseh Rd. E area. He was arrested and is now charged with one count of robbery.

Police suggest you lock your vehicle doors, even when you are sitting in the vehicle. They also commend the woman for staying calm and complying with the suspect's demands.
