Caesars Windsor Strike Averted

Workers at Caesars Windsor represented by Unifor Local 444 are on the job Wednesday after a strike was narrowly averted.

Contract talks between the two sides went right to the deadline Tuesday night. About 2,300 workers, including dealers, cooks, housekeepers, and janitors were ready to strike at 12:01am, but a deal was reached just minutes before the walkout was scheduled to start.

The union has not released details about the deal yet.

The ratification vote is set for Friday.

On March 21, workers voted 98.3% in favour of a strike mandate.
