Express Drop Finale 129-119 To Titans

A stellar shooting performance by Maurice Jones was not enough for the Windsor Express.

Jones scored a whopping 50 points, but the Express fell 129-119 to the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans on the road Saturday night, ending their regular season.

The Express finish the regular season with an even 20-20 record. They will take on the St. John's Edge in the first round of playoffs, beginning next week.

Jones also had nine assists and six steals in the contest. Braylon Rayson added 25 points for Windsor and Logan Stutz sank 12.

Anthony Ottley Jr. led the Express defensively with nine rebounds. Windsor had only four players on its bench.

Tramer Sutherland led the Titans with 23 points, while Darren Duncan was not far behind with 22 scored from the bench. Derek Hall put in another 20 points and led on defence with 12 boards.

The Express took a six-point lead in the first quarter, though they wound up tied with K-W at the half 58-58. The Titans pulled ahead in the third quarter and were able to hold the lead down the stretch.
