What's Open and Closed in Windsor-Essex On Easter Weekend

Many Windsor-Essex residents are enjoying a four-day weekend, with many institutions closed or an abbreviated hours.

All federal, provincial, and municipal government offices, including city and town halls and ServiceOntario, will be closed Easter Monday. Residents can still renew their licence plates and perform selected transactions with ServiceOntario on their official website.

There will be no Canada Post delivery Monday.

All Beer Store and LCBO locations are closed Easter Sunday. The Beer Store will operate regular hours Monday, as will selected LCBO outlets.

All three major Windsor-Essex school boards will be off Monday, though classes will be held as usual at St. Clair College and the University of Windsor.

All Windsor Public Library and Essex County Library branches will be closed through Monday.

Devonshire Mall and Tecumseh Mall will be closed Easter Sunday, but open Monday with regular hours.

The 311 call centre will be closed on Monday, but the 211 service line will be operating 24 hours as usual throughout Windsor and Essex County.

In Windsor, residential garbage and recyclable collections normally done on Monday will be delayed a day. The public drop-off depot on Central Ave and E.C. Row is closed Easter Monday.

There is no parking enforcement in Windsor on Monday, and all metered street spaces will be free. Metered parking is free already on Sunday. The city’s parking payment offices will be closed both days, but payments will still be taken online.

All arenas in the city of Windsor will be closed Monday except for previously-scheduled rentals. However, all community centres and customer care centres in Windsor will be open Monday as usual.

At the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, adult swim programs and the fitness centre will have specific hours. Please call for class times and fitness centre hours.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park will be open 10am to 4pm Monday.

The Francois Baby House and the Chimczuk Museum will be closed Monday, their usual day off.

Transit Windsor buses will run on a regular weekday schedule Monday, and the tunnel bus to Detroit will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Their customer service office downtown will be open from 7am to 9pm.

In Tecumseh, Tecumseh Arena will be closed Monday except for previously-scheduled rentals. The spring skating schedule begins Tuesday.
