Sting Take Series Lead With Game 3 Win Over Spitfires

The Windsor Spitfires fell 5-3 to the Sarnia Sting in Game 3 of their best-of-seven series on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first period, Sarnia drew first blood with a goal 53 seconds into the second frame. However, Daniel D'Amico and Cole Purboo both scored in the first two minutes of the period to give Windsor the lead. Sarnia tied things up with a goal after 9:34, but Connor Corcoran scored just over halfway through the frame to regain the advantage for the Spitfires.

Windsor held on for most of the third period, but the Sting surged in the final four minutes to score three goals in a row to snatch the win.

The Sting now lead Windsor 2-1 in the first-round playoff series.

The two teams will face off again for Game 4 on Thursday. The puck drops at 7:05pm in Windsor.
