Printing Company Finds A Home In Leamington

A new printing company in Leamington hopes to double its staff over the next year.

JJK Print Inc. just opened the shop on Iroquois Rd. in Leamington and already employs ten staff who are also shareholders in the company.

CEO, John Stubbs says they use new technology that allows them to print labels and top-seal film used by the agri-food industry faster than the competition.

"We've been developing a better print press, ink and materials now for quite a while," says Stubbs. "We have over the last six or eight months have put the best of the best together. The latest press that we've invested in is able to run 40% faster than the competition."

Stubbs says the technology is environmentally friendly because it uses less hydro; a big bonus for the company since it utility costs are 60% lower, and for farmers trying to sell their products.

"Everybody wants a product that's good for the environment, and they go to great lengths to make sure things are grown in a healthy manner," says Stubbs. "Having the packaging in a food-safe manner, manufactured with a lower environmental footprint is part of the equation."

JJK Print Inc. received a $2-million investment from Farm Credit Canada and BDC to set up the new operation.
